The bank raised its 2026 inflation forecast by 0.2 points to 5.4% and expects inflation to approach the target from the second half of 2027. It also raised its 2026 growth forecast to 7.2%. Core inflation was 3.5% and services inflation 3.7%, both below the headline rate.
The guidance is unchanged: if inflation expectations start to rise, the bank says it will raise the rate gradually; once the energy shock fades, it plans to ease gradually. The next meeting is on 16 December.
What it means for borrowers and buyers
- Lari borrowers: the policy rate works mainly through lari lending, so a stable rate means no new pressure on loan pricing from this decision. Check how often your rate can be revised under your contract.
- Buyers comparing a lari and a dollar loan: compare the full cost over the term and the currency of your income, not only the headline rate.
- Owners and tenants: rents in Georgia's price index rose 10.9% a year in September (our report). With inflation still above target, budget for further increases in rent and running costs.
What it does not say
The decision does not set the rate on any individual mortgage, and it is not a forecast of property prices.
